Peter PolycarpouJohn (London) Other Links: Peter Polycarpou was born in Brighton of Greek Cypriot parents. He began his career in musical theatre, appearing in numerous touring and repertory productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, Grease, The Front Page as well as straight plays such as Antony and Cleopatra, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Taming of the Shrew. As a member of the original cast of Les Miserables at the Barbican and the Palace Theatre, Peter progressed to the roles of Grantaire and Thenardier. He left the company to join the RSC with whom he enjoyed two extremely successful seasons in Stratford and London gaining critical acclaim for his highly original Aaron in the award-winning Titus Andronicus which subsequently toured Europe. Other major roles with the RSC included Calymath in The Jew of Malta and Micha in A Question of Geography. His TV appearances include Hammer House of Horror, Dancers (BBC), The Last Days of Pompeii and The Professionals. Peter is a musician (piano, guitar, rhythm, harmonica), composer and playwright.
