Leila FlorentinoKim (Broadway) Other Links: Leila Florentino was born in the Philippines. She started acting at the age of four in the Filipino TV series, "Balintataw," written by her father, renowned Filipino playwright, Alberto Florentino. Leila studied ballet at the Philippine High School for the Arts. She continued her ballet training at the University of the Philippines. She has toured Asia, the U.S., Europe and Canada, with The University of the Philippines Concert Chorus and "Himig ng Lahi." Leila continued her ballet training in the U.S. right after she emigrated to the U.S. with her family. In New York she started taking private acting classes, voice lessons and dance. Leila's U.S. theater credits include South Pacific, "Harana," "Lola Ita's Tales of Enchantment." She has starred in a Filipino-American production of a TV mini series: "The Day the Dancers Came."
