Keith BurnsThuy (London) Keith graduated from Mountview Theatre School in 1984. He toured Sweden, playing Narrator in The Threepenny Opera and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and then went on to play Annas in Jesus Christ Superstar at Stafford. Keith then spent seven months on the national tour of The Rocky Horror Show as Riff-Raff. He has also produced a number of fringe productions in London, including Kiss of the Spiderwoman by Manuel Puig and Friday Night Tears, a new one-act musical. He made his West End debut, with the RSC, creating the role of Montparnasse in the international award-winning musical Les Miserables, at the Barbican Theatre and it transferred to the Palace Theatre where Keith played Marius. He also recorded the original and international cast albums and made several television appearances, including Entertainment Express in the US with Colm Wilkinson and the 1987 Royal Variety performance. He was asked to appear in a concert version of Merrily We Roll Along directed by Julia McKenzie at the Shaftesbury Theatre. He played Romeo in the film The Understudy and has spent most of the year previous to Miss Saigon playing in two seasons at the Vienna Kammer Oper, where he premiered a new rock version of Carmen playing Duncaire. Keith is now extremely pleased to be working with the Les Miserables team once again on Miss Saigon. (Theatre Royal Drury Lane, 1990) |
