Ima has had a very busy singing career since she won the 1991 Panasonic International Laser Karaoke Contest in Japan. She has since then bagged other awards such as the Grand Prize in the Ilonggo Musicfest '99, 2nd place in the 1996 Metropop Song Festival and Best Interpreter in the 1996 1st Asia Song Festival. Ima has numerous concert tours under her belt and recorded the duet In Our Hands with David Pomeranz. She has also duets with Martin Nievera and Nonoy Zuñiga, as well as two solo albums. She debuted on stage with the lead role of "Alodia" in the CCP Little Theatre production Paglayang Minamahal.
